BTRY won the Industrial and Engineering vertical at the >>venture>> Startup Challenge. The prize of CHF 50,000 will accelerate the market entry of the solid-state thin-film battery.
>>venture>> is Switzerland’s leading early‑stage start‑up competition. Every year, around 400 startups compete across six industry verticals – including Industrials & Engineering – with top winners earning CHF 50,000 plus a McKinsey‑led consulting package. The final award ceremony took place at ETH Zurich on 23 June 2025.
BTRY impressed the jury with its ultra-thin, solid-state thin-film battery technology, charging in under one minute, with high energy density and flexibility, designed for IoT, MedTech, and consumer electronics applications. The prize money will help accelerate market entry, expand lab and pilot production capacity, and support rapid prototype iterations toward commercialization.

What’s next for BTRY?
With this award and the CHF 50,000 boost, BTRY is poised to accelerate its path from lab to market – advancing manufacturing readiness and solidifying its position as a next-gen battery innovator. BTRY is currently scaling its thin-film solid-state battery technology from lab-scale cells to small series production, with a focus on high-value IoT applications. Early pilot customers have already validated key advantages like ultra-fast charging, customizable form factors, and safe, solvent-free manufacturing.
