Once again BTRY makes it into the Top100 Swiss Startups Award, ranking 8th in the 2026 edition by Venturelab, our second consecutive year in the top ten! This recognition reflects not only the strength of our work so far, but the growing momentum behind our mission to bring next-generation solid-state batteries to market.
The Top100 Award, now in its 16th year, is one of Switzerland’s most important showcases for innovation. It brings together 100 of the country’s most promising startups, all selected by a jury of 100 experienced investors and ecosystem experts. The event offers visibility, investor matchmaking, media exposure, and a platform for collaboration.
At this year’s event, Corintis (1st), DeepJudge (2nd), and PAVE Space (3rd) took the top spots, each reflecting the evolving Swiss focus on advanced engineering, AI, and space technology. Ranking 8th puts BTRY among standout companies at the intersection of high-tech materials, energy storage, and cleantech. We’re proud to be in this cohort.
This year has been the busiest chapter in BTRY’s story so far. Since spinning out of ETH Zürich and Empa in April 2023, the team has taken the underlying battery technology from lab result to something customers can actually design into their products, an ultra-thin, solid-state cell that charges in a minute, holds up from −40°C to +150°C, and is built on manufacturing processes borrowed from the semiconductor industry. 2026 has above all been the year we won real customers for pilot projects, getting our batteries into their hands rather than just moving them through a pipeline. That progress has been recognized too, with the highly competitive EIC Accelerator grant and other prizes such as the HERMES Startup Award and a Swiss Technology Award final spot along the way. Landing at #8 this year is as much a marker of that momentum as it is of the technology itself, and it’s a reminder to keep pushing

The next chapter is about scale. Every milestone this year, the ranking included, has been building toward the same goal: moving from engineering samples and pilot batches to producing these batteries in industrial volumes, so they can power the devices people use every day.
